The year 2015 marks the 10th anniversary of the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s First Shots program, which introduces new shooters to target shooting and other shooting sports at ranges across the country. For the last few months we have held a sweepstakes asking folks to submit photos of them taking their first shots or helping someone take their first shots. We received a lot of awesome photos, and some of those were posted to our Facebook and Instagram page. Be sure to check them out. The contest is now closed and all of the winners will be contacted on Christmas morning. I cannot wait to make those phone calls on December 25!

We are about to close the book on 2015, and what a year it has been. We have said good-bye to friends, hello to newcomers and given thanks for what we have. It has also been an incredible year for First Shots News. The newsletter continues to grow, the writers we have are outstanding and we continue to add new elements to keep things interesting to our readers. I hope you’ll continue to join us each month.
What I find most inspiring about welcoming in a new year is the hope it gives us for the future, hope that whatever new challenges we face or obstacles we come across, that brighter days are before us.
