Where Do We Go From Here?

This is the 12th issue of First Shots News. Time sure flies when you are having fun. This newsletter has been consistent with everything we try to do at the National Shooting Sports Foundation, and that is to promote, protect and preserve hunting and the shooting sports.

We would like to thank everyone who reads the newsletter. Perhaps more importantly, we also want to thank you for sharing it with new shooters and those who wish to become shooters. This newsletter was designed to be fun and educational. It is through education that we can change the perception of what our sports mean to those who do not understand them or have been misinformed.

Through First Shots events, we often hear stories of how someone’s life was changed after attending and shooting a firearm for the first time. Many people take their first shots as a child, but, as an older adult who makes up the majority of First Shots event participants, there is something quite empowering in that accomplishment. It is for that reason we will continue to host events and provide this newsletter promoting firearms safety, education and responsibility.

How are we doing? Have you enjoyed the articles? Are there areas for new shooters you would like us to address?  Should I start drawing cartoons? No, you really don’t want me to draw anything.

The contest this month, featured at the end of this newsletter, will be dedicated to you. Look over the archives of past issues of First Shots News and let us know which articles you enjoyed most, what you would like to read about in future issues or suggest a how-to video topic, because first and foremost, this newsletter is for you. Now get outside and enjoy the shooting sports—and remember, firearms safety, depends on you.
