There are many things in life that should be celebrated: weddings, a child’s birth, birthdays, graduations. There are anniversaries, too, such as NSSF’s First Shots program, which is celebrating its tenth year of helping introduce new people to the shooting sports in a safe, controlled and fun manner. More than 50,000 people across the country have learned about firearms safety, education and responsibility through the First Shots program and that is definitely something worth celebrating.

Once you send us that picture, you’ll be entered to win one of 10 amazing prize packages or the grand prize package—and we’ll let you know if you won with a phone call Christmas morning from me.

All photos are welcome, whether you used a blackpowder rifle, a .22-caliber handgun, a shotgun, a modern sporting rifle or whatever other firearm you started with. You can even submit more than one photo (though you’ll still receive only one entry). Once you’ve entered, visit the First Shots Instagram page @FirstShots to see if your picture was posted there (you and any people you’re with need to have on eye and ear protection and be handling your firearms in a safe manner to qualify for posting on the First Shots Instagram page). Not all photos will be posted, but they will still be entered into the sweepstakes.
